Creating a wi-fi will give you the option to share internet connection with other computer. This either give you the ability to play games that require LAN connection by using WLAN. We will use a simple software called Connectify me because the default network sharing connection in Windows either too buggy to use, or just doesn't have the same functionality.
So here is what you wanna do :
Grab Connectifity me software *Note the newest version only give you 30 minutes time until the wi-fi shutted down, I suggest you to find the old version in google
Install it, if they ask for permission click yes, and allow them if they wanted to use your internet connection Then they will need tor restart your computer, just play along with it now.
Open the Connectify me software after you restarted it
Make sure it looked like this and then press Start Hotspot, some genius machine then will turn your Laptop to a Wi-fi router, so you don't need to buy another router, why would you buy one if you can get it for free.
